In the Charlotte area, it is possible to have a lifestyle akin to that in the country club communities at a much smaller price tag by sacrificing the exclusivity and some of the amenities. Several neighborhoods are intertwined with excellent semi-private or public golf courses, and they usually offer swim clubs and tennis facilities as well. In some of these communities, it's still possible to purchase a new or recently built home on the golf course in the $300-400,000 price range.
